The National Research Council is about to celebrate the 100th anniversary of its foundation, which took place on 18 November 1923. The celebrations opened on Wednesday 23 November with the event “Science and Art: dialogue in words and music” organized in the Conference Room of the CNR Rome headquarters.
A website https://centenario.cnr.it/ (in Italian) dedicated to the anniversary is now online. It will guide visitors to learn about the history of the institution and the many initiatives to celebrate planned from now on until the anniversary is reached in 2023. The website offers a journey to rediscover the history fo the Cnr, the impact of scientific research on society, and the opportunities and challenges Cnr will face in the next future.
The centenary is dedicated to inclusiveness and participation, based on 10 key words addressing science and the future of the planet: cultural heritage, life sciences, ecological transition, digital transition, clean energy, sustainability, biodiversity, circular economy, peace and scientific diplomacy, one health.
