Abstract:
This talk aims to show from a highly introductory point of view the role of numerical optimization in the solution of inverse problems, and in particular in signal and image reconstruction problems. Connections with machine learning models and methods will be discussed, as well as the evolution of the role of HPC in numerical optimization research.
