La Primavera della Ricerca

A day dedicated to science to celebrate the Centenary of CNR: La Primavera della Ricerca - The Springtime of Research is a celebration dedicated to everyone, to schools, to families, to the city. On May 12th, we look forward to our open day to share with the public the discoveries, studies, and projects that take place every day in the labs of the many Cnr institutes in Pisa.

Throughout the program, there will be discussions on sustainability, biodiversity, ecological and digital transition, clean energy, circular economy, life sciences, one health, cultural heritage, peace, and scientific diplomacy. There will be talks for high schools in the morning, outdoor laboratories with CNR scientists all day, and an afternoon event, a talk show to discuss science, research, and the future.

Cnr Nano researchers will participate in the event: in a short-talk for schools entitled The Ice Age of Computers (L'era glaciale del computer), Giorgio De Simoni will explain what superconductors are and why they are important for our future. Instead, Mariacristina Gagliardi's research group will be setting up the Nanotechnologies for diagnostics and health (Nanotecnologie per la salute e la diagnostica) open lab where biosensors for medical and environmental diagnostics and nanobiomaterials for regenerative medicine or controlled drug delivery will be demonstrated.
