Chiara De Cesari

Short Bio

June 2022 to present: post-Doc position at Istituto Nanoscienze-CNR @NEST, Pisa.
2020 - 2022: post-Doc position at the Biology Department, University of Pisa.
2019 - 2020: Short-term fellowship, Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa.
2015 - 2019: PhD in Translational Medicine, Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Pisa.
2012 - 2015: Master’s Degree in Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology, University of Pisa.

Research Interests

My main research focus is the characterization of neuronal exosomes in the context of Angelman syndrome to identify deregulated or defective molecular biomarkers. The biomarkers will be useful for the longitudinal follow-up of patients, for the monitoring of therapies (present and future), and to identify new potential therapeutic targets.

Selected Recent Projects

Isolation and molecular characterization of neuronal exosomes in neurodevelopmental disorders’ models – END (financed by Regione Toscana- Bando Assegni di ricerca anno 2021, and Fondazione Pisana per la Scienza)
