300 female scientists sharing their passion for research
A compelling video showcases the collective project #womenatCNR, aimed at empowering and bringing visibility to the female research community at CNR

The Nano Institute proudly presents '300x100. Protagoniste per la Ricerca', a captivating video showcasing the vitality and talent of CNR's female researchers. The project was crafted using material gathered from the #womenatCNR social campaign.

Premiered on November 18, 2023, in Rome during CNR's Centennial celebration event, the video is now being shared by the CNR institutes who joined the project.

The #womenatCNR initiative, still ongoing and open for new participants, aims to champion the active skills of women who conduct and support research at CNR. The campaign, launched in 2022 by Cnr-Scitec, expanded throughout 2023, engaging nearly 300 women—researchers, technologists, fellows, and research support staff—from 20 different CNR Institutes. These participants depicted their research roles by sharing brief messages and photos on social media using the #womenatCNR hashtag.

CNR's President, Maria Chiara Carrozza, kickstarted the extended campaign on February 11, 2023, coinciding with UNESCO's International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Since then, nearly every day, a post has highlighted the work of a female CNR scientist.

The NANO Institute was among the first promoters of the extended campaign; 27 of its talented researchers "stepped up" and took the baton in this virtual relay among the scientists. You can find them at a dedicated page - Women at Nano - and on social media under the hashtag #womenatNANO.

The video stands as a tribute to the female scientific community at CNR and as a vehicle to champion diversity, inclusivity, and inspiration.
