It is with deep sadness that the Istituto Nanoscienze announces the passing of the colleague and friend Valdis Corradini.
Valdis was a highly respected researcher at Cnr Nano in Modena, where he had been part of the community since its early days. His scientific activity focused on molecular magnetism, low-dimensional systems and molecule–surface interactions, contributing to the advancement of nanoscience and quantum materials research. Throughout his career, he combined scientific expertise with deep curiosity and dedication, working both in-house and at large-scale synchrotron facilities and mastering a wide range of advanced experimental techniques. He also took part in outreach activities in nanoscience and in initiatives involving young researchers and students whenever possible. Known for his tenacity and determination, Valdis approached every goal — even the most difficult — with tireless energy.
He will be greatly missed by colleagues, collaborators and friends. The Cnr Nano community extends its sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.
